DES22 – Cottage Garden
The original cottage garden was planted up with an eye to food, so fruit and vegetables were the mainstay, interspersed with a few flowers, as time went by more flowering plants were introduced. The inclination to “grow your own” is becoming much more popular now, this arrangement of pretty flowers and staple vegetables interprets this idea and as such would suit a keen gardener. Roses, delphinium, phlox, agapanthus, clematis and astrantia are contented companions to leek, lettuce, carrot, potato, broccoli, sweetcorn, aubergine, peas and beans – a scrumptious delight.
