Registering a Death
Once the Medical Certificate has been issued the death should be registered, within five days, at the Registry Office in the sub-district where it occurred.
Care of the Deceased
We advise all families to contact us as soon as possible when a death does occur. In many cases now when people pass away in hospital, it is not necessary for us to attend immediately, but our staff can give the helpful advice needed to put your mind at ease, and to ensure that the family are aware of everything that needs to be done.
After the Funeral
A gathering after a funeral, typically known as a ‘wake’ is held to enable family and friends to reflect and reminice on the life and memory of the deceased. Though of course you can do whatever feels right for you and the family.
